So far this new Daft Punk album is proving to be a lot to take in at once. I have many thoughts on it. None of them, however, feel fully-formed or realized. On a whole, the album is pretty messy and disjointed, but in the best possible way? Single synths suddenly become soaring soundscapes, voice modulators unexpected turn into raw vocals and choruses. The complexity of the instrumentation can sometimes complicate what would otherwise be simple, fun melody. In that way, it challenges me.

This song is the best example of that kind of sporadic richness. I have listened to all 8 minutes of this song about 10 times in the last day. Each time, I notice something different or feel it in a different way.

Man, I haven’t heard music this thought out in a very long time.
